WordPress redesign of The Old Edinburgh Club

The Old Edinburgh Club (OEC) is the city’s local historical society, which focuses on all aspects of the capital’s history and development. They contacted Redcitrus Design to redesign their old WordPress based website.

When creating the new site, our goal was to create a sleek, modern and functional look that included the following elements:

• The client needed a complete redesign to give the website, specifically the home page, a new look and appeal to a wider age group of visitors plus encourage more contributions from Club members
• A custom WordPress theme was created using Elementor Pro and Advanced Custom Fields – from an initial wireframe to design prototypes that were shared with clients via a project board
• The existing posts and pages were imported into the new site so they could be updated with the new brand
• New custom post type for events – A custom post grid was created to highlight upcoming events
• A new join us form was created to integrate with PayPal Commerce so people can pay online
• Integration of Google CSE search tool to replace the WordPress search
• A new navigation structure to make it easier for people to join the club and find what they are looking for
• Website is designed with responsive capabilities to ensure it functions seamlessly across all devices
