Manchester Independents

Manchester Independents is a collaborative endeavour championed by diverse cultural entities within the city, dedicated to honouring the creative contributions of artists from Greater Manchester throughout its various boroughs.

The team at MI wanted to move their website from SquareSpace to WordPress and create an events platform that could be moderated by the team.

This was a collaboration with Caroline Boyd at Boy-Oh-Boy Designs who created a new brand for Manchester Independents. The branding documents were supplied to me and I built the custom WordPress theme to match.

• The WordPress theme was crafted to incorporate the provided brand assets such as the logo, icons, colour palette, images, and comprehensive brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive and visually striking design
• The events system was created so that artists could add their own events via an online form and then approved by the MI team
• Built with Elementor Pro, the bespoke theme was built to incorporate the custom elements designed for each page. Custom post types were utilised to showcase commissioned artists, artist advisors, and partners, resulting in a seamless user experience
• Ensuring mobile and tablet compatibility was paramount to the project, with responsive web design at its core. The website was meticulously developed to seamlessly adapt and function across various devices
